Ivy Tech Community College, Koch Student Center, Room 152

Entrance “I” or “C” (I is on South side of building by a courtyard and C is on the north side of the building)

Registration will be center by stage (Teams please check in by 12:50)


Volunteer Check in/Setup -11:00 am

Score Keeper Training- 11:30 am

Most volunteers will be keepers- keeping time and score at each table.  We may also use some volunteers as back up teams if we are uneven, some will be runners, time watchers

Volunteer Lunch Noon – Pizza

Auction & Concessions Open- 12:30 pm (Helen Azarian & Barb Gaisser are in charge)

Auction is open to all, cash, checks or credit cards accepted. Concessions is open to all cash or check only

Arrival time of tournament participants~ 12:30-12:50

Volunteers will help escort teams to tables

Tournament 1:00-4:00 pm

MC’s Tim and Scott starts event with recognizing sponsors, teams, accepting rule understanding

¡   Break 10 minutes

¡   Round 2 – 25 minutes

¡   Round 3 -25 minutes

¡   Break- tabulation of winner~ 10 minutes

¡   Awards/Wrap Up 10 minutes – each division (Pro, Semi-Pro, Rebel) receives trophies

Guests:  You are invited!  Donors, Volunteers, Community, etc.

Purpose: To raise funds to support The Literacy Center’s Adult Literacy Program

Where:     Ivy Tech- Commons, 3501 First Ave.

Who:        Teams up to 3 people/$50 per team*

*Student Division $30 per team

Why:        To have fun while raising money and awareness for literacy issues!

Make a Literacy Impact

Simple Tips to Make a Literacy Impact

– Make reading a daily habit in your home. Try designating a reading corner for a cozy reading experience.
– Designate specific time to read- before dinner, after dinner or bedtime
– Read a new book with your young person or as a family to explore a new adventure together.
-Get a library card if you don’t have one and schedule regular visits. Pick a day and a time. 
– Give the gift of a literacy to your community with books and resources by hosting a book drive or building a little free library.  Donate books to a pre-school, or community center.
– Volunteer to be a reading tutor.
– Plan now to start a literacy tradition built around the Holiday of your choice. Gifts of books and quality reading time.

Closed for Holidays Information

The Literacy Center will be closed for the Holidays: Monday Dec. 25, 2017- Monday, January 1, 2018.  We will be re-open and return to normal hours on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.  High School Equivalency Classes will return to normal schedule on Tuesday, January 2nd  from 1:00 pm-4:00pm.
