These are some of the resources available to you as a volunteer tutor. Take a look and request by filling out the form at the end of the page!
Please note that we have a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction books available to you as a tutor, either for use in tutoring sessions or just for your own reading. You can visit our literacy library by coming to the Center during business hours.
High School Equivalency
The TASC textbook is a comprehensive guide to the Test Assessing Secondary Completion. It is the main textbook we use in the HSE class.
We have a very limited amount of these textbooks, and therefore only use them in our HSE class. We do this because these textbooks are costly to the Center, and it is far more efficient for student to buy the textbook themselves.
This being said, if:
- You believe your student would greatly benefit from having a TASC textbook,
- You believe they are unable to purchase one themselves,
- They attend your tutoring sessions regularly (for at least a month),
then you may request one on your students behalf. If you believe your student needs a TASC textbook, we will do all we can to get one to them, for free.
Note: the TASC textbook is a huge resource over 500 pages long. Please look at requesting any of the materials below before requesting a TASC textbook.

Make A Request
If you’d like any of these resources for you and your student, just fill out the form below. While we are able to mail out most resources, we prefer volunteers pick them up.
These resources are usually bought by The Literacy Center (they aren’t donated), so please only request these items if you plan on using them. Only request items one at a time (e.g. do not ask for all 8 of the Challenger books).
