William Lismore, Executive Director

William Lismore is a teacher, painter, and writer from the United Kingdom. He earned his Bachelor’s in English, Master’s in Education with Distinction, and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) from the University of Lincoln, a college in the UK’s East Midlands, home to the gothic Lincoln Cathedral and the University of Evansville’s Harlaxton College. 
Before moving to Evansville in January 2019, William was an English teacher, best known for his love of music and creativity. After moving, William began volunteering for The Literacy Center, earned his Indiana Teacher’s License, and became the Center’s Executive Director in November 2019.
William’s focus during his Masters was on Special Educational Needs, Social Justice, and School Behavior Policy. He is trained in teaching basic literacy and volunteers with The Garvin Foundation, an Evansville-based collection of volunteers that help rescue birds.

Meghana Makoday, Education Coordinator

Meghana Makoday is an educator, researcher and artist originally from India. She earned her Doctoral degree in Biological sciences from Rani Durgavati University, India. She moved to Evansville in 2013, and before that worked as a Literature management expert and Researcher in the Pharmaceutical Industry.

As an educator she enjoys volunteering for Nonprofit Organization’s dedicated to Education. She loves painting, travelling, exploring new cultures and interacting with people. She joined The Literacy center as an Education Coordinator in March, 2020.
